Animation Proposal

Working title	THC Animation
Format	Final format will be MP4 file published (exported) from Photoshop. This format will allow the animation to be uploaded to blogs, YouTube and social media.
Type of animation	I am going to use tweens and frame-by-frame animation techniques to make the animation.
Purpose (describe in detail)	The purpose of the advert to persuade the audience to come to Tower Hamlets College by showing the regular lifestyle a THC student. It will be able to be shown on the college website as well as social media. It is to show the college in a good light, with enthusiastic students, wonderful tutors and facilities
Target audience (describe in detail)	The target audience for my advert is teenagers 16-20s and young people, although I hope the animation will appeal to a broad range people.
Animation software	I will be using Adobe Photoshop to create the animation, although if I have time I may include some Animate sequences.
Total running time (15 seconds +)	I shall aim to have a 20-seconds animation.
Dimensions	788 pixels by 576 pixels. I shall be able to export it smaller for various purposes if needed.
Planned approach	I have a style which will be a cartoon filter type and technique I will be using is transformation, for example, moving the character so I am starting the work by researching as much animation as possible. I am going to start by looking at some current music videos to get a feel for an up-to-date work available at the moment and work that appeals to the age group targeted. I plan to use some clip-art (copyright free) as well as producing my own assets (including figures and backgrounds) based on actual places around the college. This approach will very much depend on time. Making my own assets will take far longer than finding and using clip-art. However, the animation will not have such an individual look. For the backgrounds, I can take some digital photographs as a starting point. The figures I imagine will be roughly drawn, with bright colours and these colours will overlap the lines so it doesn't look too much like a conventional cartoon style. I think I will experiment with the look of the style in programmes like Illustrator.
Proposed action/storyline	At the start of the animation I plan to show some someone walking from the bus stop to the college then he goes past the reception to the cafeteria and then jumps other the table and on to desk then after that scene the Title is introduced (Tower Hamlets College).  There will be lots of people about and all the colours will be bright and cheerful. The music will be up-beat and fast. I will not be able to pay for a contemporary artist for the music so will find some from a site that you can download and use for free.
